This Week’s Reader Poll Results: Thank you to everyone who responded to our May 28th poll about your most memorable summer job when you were a younger person. The majority of respondents had jobs that were relatively ordinary for working teens during the summer, yet nonetheless quite memorable, even imparting lessons that remained relevant throughout life. Whether scooping ice cream, working at a restaurant, pumping gas, or picking crops, many of you expressed pleasure at the memory of that summer position, including the opportunity to be outside, meet new people, or gain exposure to a new line of work. Some of you gained maturity and experience handling money and the responsibility of being part of a workforce- one of you even met your future spouse that summer! No one expressed frustration or distress at what they had to take on, and it seems like even the most menial tasks were accepted with hard work and perseverance- and good memories! Hoping that this summer leaves good memories for you and your loved ones as well!
