This Week’s Reader Poll: In response to the June 19th reader poll regarding worries that you have for younger generations, the largest percentage of respondents had several concerns, including concerns about the environment younger generations will inherit and the quality of life they will be able to achieve. Many of you expressed generalized concern for the way we are leaving conditions in our country and around the world, and your concern that it may be too late to turn things around. However, resigning yourself to the way things are may not be your only strategy to ease your concern about the world we are leaving to future generations. As Mahatma Gandhi once said, “It’s the action, not the fruit of the action, that’s important. You have to do the right thing. It may not be in your power, may not be in your time, that there’ll be any fruit. But that doesn’t mean you stop doing the right thing. You may never know what results come from your action. But if you do nothing, there will be no result.”
