This Week’s Reader Poll Results: Thank you to everyone who responded to our June 11th poll about whether you still use your local public library. Clearly, we have strong support for libraries among agebuzz readers! This was among the most robust poll responses we’ve had to date. While a few of you mentioned you go to the library for magazines or various educational programs, more than ⅓ of you said you regularly go to the library to take out books, along with accessing books electronically through the library (or ordering books online and then going to the library to retrieve them). Many of you were deeply grateful to have this resource in your community, and several of you mentioned you also donate books to your library. With a high level of enthusiasm, it seems the sentiments expressed by some (“I love my library” and “I call it bibliotherapy”) are widely shared. And new data suggests that libraries are aware of the important role they have in the lives of older adults and are working to sustain and improve their offerings for this demographic. As the Argentine short story writer Jorge Luis Borges once said, “I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library.” Clearly, many agebuzz readers agree with that sentiment!

He was known for his vivid, colorful paintings of people and landscapes and his willingness to evolve to reinvent his imagery using such media as iPads and video, along with printmaking, photography, and stage scenery.
