This Week’s Reader Poll Results: Thank you to everyone who responded to our June 25th poll about your sources of entertainment when you were a young adult. First, our apologies. A significant number of you pointed out that we left out an obvious source of entertainment in our survey: that is, of course, reading. We should have provided our reading-enthusiastic agebuzz subscribers with that option, and we apologize for that oversight! Among the survey responses we did provide, the most popular was that of a combination of entertainment. So many of you described listening to music, but also enjoying hanging out with friends, watching movies or television, or participating in sports or other hobbies. Many of you commented that without smartphones, you were forced to use your imaginations and perhaps even had more fun because of that. While a few of you acknowledged that having fun wasn’t really a part of your childhood (though you’ve been making up for that ever since), most of you seemed to recall fond memories of earlier, simpler times, infused with friendship, fun and exploration. Here’s hoping that today’s young adults can get off their phones and into the real world long enough to enjoy the same pleasures that we all did when we were younger!
This Week’s agebuzz Reader Poll: Do you have an opinion about Medical Aid in Dying?
- Yes, I support the concept and would use it for myself.
- Yes, I support the idea but don’t think I would ever use it for myself.
- I think if someone wants to legally use it, it's their right to do so.
- I think it’s sad that someone would have to use that option, but I understand why.
- I think people should be kept comfortable and pain-free, but I don’t support that option.
- To me, this is akin to suicide, and I don’t think it should be legally permitted.
- I think this should be available to anyone who wants it, and a physician should be able to administer the medication if the patient can’t self-administer.
- Some combination of the above responses.
- I don’t know enough about it to have an opinion.
- Other (please describe)
