This Week’s Reader Poll: In response to the January 22nd reader poll regarding stereotypes about older adults, we were not surprised that the overwhelming majority of you rejected all of the ideas as unfair, inaccurate, or inapplicable to you and your life circumstances. We are well aware that these were gross overgeneralizations that represent outdated or prejudicial descriptions of older adults, and we’re glad that so few of you buy into these ideas! In fact, believing these stereotypes, especially internalizing them and therefore changing your own behavior to conform, has been scientifically found to be a burden on your health, even shortening your lifespan by several years! And we hope you don’t think that we at agebuzz buy into any of these misguided ideas about older adults. Just to make sure, so many of you provided descriptions of what you do to defy aging stereotypes, whether it’s engaging in physical activity, living independently, traveling solo, or being active in your community. From your responses, we’re happy to report that agebuzz readers are not allowing any aging stereotypes to limit their pursuits or stand in the way of a fulfilling and active life!
This Week’s agebuzz Reader Poll: What’s been the most expensive “purchase” you’ve made in your life to date? (Please read all possible responses before selecting the one that best fits you!) |
Bonus Question: What were your reasons for making this expensive purchase? |

Thinking about better aging?
Starting in our 30s, some key cellular processes begin to slow down, making us feel tired and weak over time. This decline affects not just our physical strength and endurance, but significantly reduces our quality of life making everyday activities harder to enjoy.
Luckily, scientists have discovered a way to shape how we age. Mitopure®, by Timeline, targets the root cause of this cellular decline and is clinically proven to increase cellular energy, giving our bodies the energy they need to function optimally. The results? Double-digit increases in muscle strength without any change in exercise.
Take aging into your own hands. agebuzz readers get 30% off with code 30NEWSLETTER for a limited time, while supplies last.
