Maria Shriver's Sunday Paper is the Home for a Deeply Meaningful Life, one where millions of people around the world join together to be informed, be inspired, and move themselves and humanity forward. When it comes to growing older, we believe shifting outdated narratives and stereotypes are long overdue—and that it's time to Radically Reframe Aging.
We invite you to join us on this mission by enjoying our Radically Reframing Aging & Longevity Guide: Your Free Resource for Living Better, Longer, featuring wise thinkers, big visionaries, and generous teachers that are here, all in one place, to help guide us forward.
Agebuzz Asks: This Week’s Reader Poll: In response to last week’s reader poll regarding what’s on your bucket list, two responses were essentially tied. The most frequent item that respondents revealed was a special travel destination, though many commented that their health may mean that extensive travel is no longer in their future. However, the most common response from agebuzz readers was not having a bucket list at all. Whether it’s just living your best life at the moment each day or not being able to make plans because of life circumstances, many of you rejected the idea of a bucket list, even suggesting the concept was outdated and not reflective of today’s older population. It seems that for those who can do what they want, goals are pursued today rather than being put off for another day. And for those who can’t plan ahead or no longer have future dreams to fulfill, just living in the moment as best as possible is the life they accept and live.
Thank you all for continuing to generously share your experiences and feelings and for responding to the previous poll.
This Week’s agebuzz Reader Poll:
- Regular strength and balance exercises
- Upgrading my home to eliminate clutter, improve lighting, add grab bars, and clear pathways
- Making sure my vision and hearing are as good as possible
- Using adaptive equipment such as a cane or walker
- Reviewing my medications with my doctor to lessen harmful side effects
- All of the above
- Other- please describe
- I don’t do anything special. So far, so good.
The Last Word

“No matter how young you may look or feel, time refuses to rest. It forges on. I’m now right around the age my parents were when I first considered them old. I’m not sure when the world will consider me old — maybe it already does — but I do know that I’m no longer afraid of it. I welcome it. And I understand that the best parts of many books are their final chapters.”
