Agebuzz Asks: This Week’s Reader Poll: In response to the August 1st reader poll regarding your biggest weekly expenditures, there’s no doubt about how the majority of agebuzz respondents to the poll are spending their money: Either food bills or housing expenses are taking big bites out of your budgets. Many of you also gave examples of how insurance costs, either medical, homeowners, or auto, are rising in ways that outpace your own stagnant incomes. Given the rates of inflation over the last couple of years, even those of us who tried to plan our budgets are feeling the effects of unanticipated rising prices. Some respondents mentioned strategies to cut back on expenses, such as fewer dinners out or foregoing home repairs. Money is always a sensitive topic to discuss, so we appreciate those of you who took the time to share your experiences.
