Agebuzz Asks: This Weekâs Reader Poll: In response to the August 22nd reader poll regarding your hearing loss and hearing aids, about â of respondents agreed that they have some hearing loss but to date have not sought out hearing aids. For those who have sought them out, the experience appears to be somewhat mixed. Some of you have had hearing aids for many years and believe your life is markedly better as a result, and enthusiastically encourage those with hearing loss to try them out. Others have been less satisfied, remarking that the aids do not bring back your original sense of hearing and the fitting and upkeep for them is a hassle. Several of you also mentioned the expense of hearing aids. Certainly a mixed picture from agebuzz readers, with the conclusion that the experience of buying and using hearing aids can be a very personal matter. Thank you to all who participated in the survey!
